Your Notes.
Your Browser.
Your AI.
All Connected.
Nexus brings your notes, browser, and AI together so you can research, write, and ask questions without switching apps or constantly uploading information.
Every note is saved locally, connected through the knowledge graph, and ready for your AI to draw on when you ask.
No manual uploads. No rebuilding context. Just open Nexus and keep working. Your workspace already knows what matters.
One window
Three tools that were built to sit next to each other
Most note apps stop at notes. Nexus keeps a real browser and an assistant in the same window, so context never has to be copy-pasted between four different apps.
01 — Notes
Notes that build themselves into a knowledge graph
Write naturally and let Nexus connect the dots. Add #tags as you write, and Nexus automatically turns those relationships into a real, navigable knowledge graph. Your notes, links, and tags become the structure, revealing connections between ideas as your knowledge grows. Explore related concepts, follow ideas, and see how everything fits together — all while your work stays saved locally with automatic version history, so nothing gets lost.
02 — Browser
A real native private browser, built into Nexus
Browse the web without leaving a history behind. Nexus opens websites in native browser tabs, but unlike a traditional browser, it doesn't keep a persistent record of your browsing activity. No browsing history and no persistent browsing trail. When you close your session, there's nothing waiting in Nexus for someone else to find later. Your browsing stays temporary instead of becoming another permanent record on your device.
03 — Assistant
An assistant that already knows what you're reading
Ask a question, and Nexus finds the relevant context from your notes on-device, then, with tab awareness enabled, brings in what you're reading in the Browser too. No uploading files, no copying and pasting, and no need to reconstruct your thinking from scratch. The Assistant connects your research with the page in front of you, so you can move from reading to understanding without breaking your flow. Only relevant excerpts are sent to Nexus Cloud.
Details
The parts you notice after day one
Semantic search, on-device
A small embedding model runs locally to find notes by meaning, not just shared words — no API call, nothing sent anywhere to search your own writing.
Version history done right
Nexus quietly snapshots a note as you edit it, so an accidental rewrite or a bad find-and-replace is always one click from undone.
Deleting is reversible by default
A deleted note moves to Trash, not the void. Everything about it — links, tags, history — stays intact until you empty it yourself or restore it.
A command palette for everything
⌘K jumps to any note, creates a folder, or switches tabs by typing a few letters — built for keeping both hands on the keyboard.
Your data, in formats you can leave with
Export every note as plain Markdown, or back up the whole database to a single file. Nothing here is locked behind a proprietary format.
Secrets live in your OS keychain
Your Nexus Cloud API key is stored through your system's own credential store, never in a browser-readable file. The server only keeps a hashed copy.
Four themes, one CSS variable away
Darkness, Dusk, Daylight, and Dawn are built from the same token system — pick the one that matches how you want the room to feel.
Pasting content awareness
The editor understands what you paste and formats it accordingly — code becomes code blocks, structured text keeps its shape, and everything else gets the formatting it needs.
Under the hood
From a typed link to a graph edge
This is the actual sequence, not a simplification — it's the same four steps every time you type something.
- 01
Write a link
Type anywhere in a note, the same way you'd write a normal sentence.
- 02
Nexus resolves it
On automatic save, the title is matched against your other notes — no folder structure or manual linking needed.
- 03
An edge is stored
The connection is written to a local link table, in both directions: backlinks and outgoing links.
- 04
It shows up in the graph
Open the Graph tab and every connected note is already there, sized by how many links it holds.
Appearance
Four themes, switched instantly
Every color in Nexus is a CSS variable, so switching themes is instant and never requires a restart. Try one on this page — it's the same switch the app uses.
Privacy
Local First - Private by Default
Your notes stay on your device. The AI Assistant is the one part that runs through a server. Here's what it actually means for Nexus, plainly, so you can judge it yourself rather than take our word for it.
Notes live in a local SQLite file on your disk — Nexus doesn't store or sync your notes on a server.
No account needed for notes, search, or the browser. The AI Assistant is the one feature that needs a Nexus Cloud account.
Semantic search runs through a small model loaded in-app via WebAssembly — nothing about your notes leaves the device to search them.
Ask the assistant a question, and only the relevant note excerpts (plus text from your open tabs, if you turn on tab awareness) are sent to the Nexus Cloud service, which forwards them to a third-party AI provider — never your whole vault.
Nexus Cloud keeps your email, a hashed password and API key, and usage counts (tokens and timestamps) to enforce limits. It doesn't intentionally keep the text of your requests.
Your Nexus Cloud API key is stored in your operating system's own credential store, not in a browser-readable file.
